The Zoho Report - Episode 12

Hugh Marshall

Welcome back to The Zoho Report! In this episode we're covering major new features in Zoho Analytics, team module support in CRM Advanced Analytics, new Deluge V8 integration tasks for CRM, and MFA support for the Zoho Desk Help Center.

Let's dive in.

1. Zoho Analytics: April 2026 Updates

Zoho Analytics has released its April 2026 update with several enhancements worth knowing about.

Zia Insights in Dashboards

The headline feature is Zia Insights in Dashboards. Previously, Zia could only analyse individual reports. Now it analyses all reports within an entire dashboard simultaneously, delivering business-ready insights across key categories, contribution, seasonal trends, forecasting, and diagnostics.

Workflow Builder

Zoho Analytics now supports end-to-end workflow automation using a light version of Zoho Flow built into the Application. Previously you were limited to basic actions but now you can build multi-step workflows that connect to other applications directly from your reports and dashboards, moving from insight to execution without switching tools.

Classified Views

A new Classified View on the Explorer page automatically groups your reports into meaningful categories such as recently accessed, frequently used, and recently modified. If you manage a large number of reports, this is a welcome improvement to navigation.

2. Zoho Analytics: CRM Team Module Support

If you're on Zoho CRM Enterprise and using Advanced Analytics, team modules are now included in the mix.

You can now add team modules, along with their notes and fields, to your Analytics configuration, making them available for reports, insights, and other analytical functions. Previously, getting structured team-level data into Analytics required manual exports or workarounds. Now it's built in.

What this makes possible:

  • Dashboards tracking tasks completed per team or member, average turnaround time, and workload distribution
  • Full customer journey visibility across teams: Lead → Deal → Onboarding → Support
  • Quick views like "Deals closed by team" or "Leads handled per team"

One thing to note: team modules carry the same properties as custom modules in Analytics, which means dashboards need to be built manually rather than using pre-built templates. But the data is all there to work with.

3. Zoho CRM: Deluge V8 Integration Tasks

For anyone writing Deluge scripts that interact with Zoho CRM, this is a significant update.

Zoho has introduced a new set of CRM integration tasks built on the V8 APIs, replacing the previous tasks which were based on the ageing V2 APIs. This is more than just a version bump, the V8 foundation brings access to improved features and functionality that simply weren't available before.

Two areas stand out immediately: deal pipeline fields and custom fields used in native finance module subforms. Previously, working with these in Deluge required falling back on raw API calls using invokeURL. That approach works, but results in scripts that are harder to write and harder to maintain. With the V8-based tasks, these operations can now be handled natively within Deluge, resulting in cleaner, more readable, and more maintainable code.

If you have existing scripts that use the older CRM integration tasks or invokeURL workarounds for these specific cases, it's worth reviewing them against the new V8 tasks.

4. Zoho Desk: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Help Centre

Zoho Desk now supports Multi-Factor Authentication for Help Center user accounts.

When enabled, users are required to enter both their password and a time-based one-time password from a supporting authenticator application when signing in. This ensures that if a password is compromised, the account can't be accessed without that second factor.

Although Help Centre profiles are very limited in the information stored about the user, this does provide an extra layer of security to protect your Knowledge Base or Community Forums if they are set to private.

How to enable it:

Settings > Channels > Help Center > User Authentication > Enable MFA
