The Zoho Report - Episode 13

Hugh Marshall

Welcome back to The Zoho Report! In this episode we're covering a new Calendar in Zoho Sprints, the latest Zoho Books May product updates, an important upgrade to Sentiment Analysis in Zoho Desk, and Zoho CRM's newly native QuickBooks integration.

Let's dive in.

1. Zoho Sprints: Calendar in Global View

Zoho has introduced a Calendar in the Global View, giving you a date-based view of all activities across your projects in one place.

What's in it

The calendar supports weekly and monthly formats, and the Entity dropdown lets you filter down to a specific type or view everything at once. Supported entities include Work Items, Sprints, Epics, Releases, Timesheets, and Custom modules.

How the Date View works

Clicking on a specific date takes you into the Date View, where you can use the tabs along the top to switch between entities, the toggle on the bottom left to switch between item types, or the hamburger icon to open the list view on the side.

It's also worth noting the Calendar View is available in My View and Team View, not just the Global View. A solid addition for anyone juggling a lot of active projects at once.

2. Zoho Books: May 2026 Product Updates

Zoho Books has released its May 2026 product update. While several improvements in this release are region-specific, three updates are worth calling out for everyone.

Receipt Scans now included

Receipt Scans are now included at no additional cost across Zoho Books plans. The number of scans available varies by plan, so it's worth checking the pricing page to confirm what you're entitled to.

Accessibility Preferences

Zoho Books has introduced Accessibility Preferences, letting you adjust text spacing, underline links for better visibility, add strikethrough to disabled buttons, and quickly surface keyboard shortcuts. To set it up: click your profile icon in the top-right corner > Accessibility Preferences > Set Up Your Preferences.

User-Level Account Segmentation in Banking

Admins managing larger teams can now assign specific bank accounts to individual users based on their roles. Users will only see and manage the accounts allocated to them, giving organisations much tighter control over banking access without extra workarounds.

3. Zoho Desk: Upgraded Sentiment Analysis in Zia

Zoho Desk is upgrading the Sentiment Analysis model in Zia to improve how customer sentiment is detected and interpreted across all supported channels.

New language support

The new model is no longer limited to English. It now supports 11 additional languages: Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Chinese Simplified, Indonesian, Hindi, Italian, Malay, and Portuguese.

How to upgrade

If you already have Sentiment Analysis enabled, head to Setup > Zia > Intelligence > Sentiment Analysis and look for the Update option. If you haven't enabled it yet, you can turn it on from the same location.

Important: The current model is scheduled to be deprecated on 7th June 2026. If you haven't upgraded by then, your account will be updated automatically.

4. Zoho CRM: Native QuickBooks Online Integration

Zoho CRM has had a QuickBooks integration for a while, but it's just received a significant upgrade and is now fully native.

How the sync works

The sync model is well thought out. Core record modules sync both ways between the two systems:

  • Two-way sync: Contacts, Accounts, Vendors, Products

  • One-way sync (QuickBooks > CRM): Estimates, Invoices, Purchase Orders

When a user creates an Estimate, Invoice, or Purchase Order from within CRM, they're redirected to QuickBooks where the record is created. It then automatically syncs back into Zoho CRM as a locked, read-only record, and any subsequent updates made in QuickBooks will reflect in CRM automatically.

What this unlocks in CRM

Because the data syncs back natively, all synced fields are available across Zoho's workflow engine, reports, and notifications. That means you can build automations around real financial events: invoice status changes, estimate acceptance, overdue payments, all without leaving CRM.

Availability

This integration is available for Zoho CRM Enterprise and above. It's currently included at no additional cost, but Zoho has flagged that pricing may be introduced in the future, so it's worth keeping an eye on.
